Literacy and Numeracy Catch-up Premium 

The literacy and numeracy catch-up premium provides schools with an additional £500 for each year 7 pupil who did not achieve at least a level 4 in reading and/or maths at the end of key stage 2.

Catch up Premium income 2013/14 £15,000

How is this money being spent?

All Hallows RC High School uses the Catch Up funding received to support and develop a number of initiatives focused on raising student achievements in Reading and Numeracy; these include the employ of specialist dedicated 1-2-1 tutors, employment of a focused Literacy and Numeracy coordinator, creation of a numeracy focus group and provision of the required resources (Lexia, Accelerated Reader programmes) and associated training.   

Desired impact:

The school operates a number of focused initiatives to support the Literacy and Numeracy skills of students, the desired impact of which is 

                A significant improvement in reading age and comprehension 

                A significant improvement in basic numeracy skills
