At All Hallows RC High School, we believe in nurturing the whole child and walking with them on their spiritual journey. We encourage opportunities for Faith in Action and we have active Chaplaincy groups including the SVP, Caritas Ambassadors and Prayer Captains.
SVP
Youth SVP is open to all year groups and meets every week to discuss and plan ways to engage in their community through social action. Members of the SVP are very active in charity initiatives across the school. which include: writing cards to prisoners during the festive period, designing Doors of Hope as part of the Jubilee Year, supporting community events ran in school like the Pensioners party and producing a wonderful Lenten calendar of actions to drive the social action from non members also, demonstrating the strength in action.
Caritas Ambassadors
This group is open to all year groups and meets on a Monday lunchtime in the Dove room. The aims of the group are to take action and encourage others to do the same. Campaigns so far have included the #BeeThere Advent messages, Lenten Thought of the Day and St. Joseph’s Penny. The Caritas ambassadors recently represented the school at the World Day of Prayer service.
Prayer Captains
This group is open to all year groups and currently meets on a Tuesday morning in the Chapel. The aims of the group are to be beacons of prayer within the school and to help plan and lead collective worship in school. Captains have worked on ‘Minutes of Hope’ videos for the Jubilee Year and are due to represent the school at the Mayoral Prayer service at Salford Civic Centre.
We have strong links with various charities including Caritas, St Joseph’s Penny, Salford Loaves and Fishes and Cornerstone.
